Alicia Fox

Wildflower Portraits was created by Alicia Fox, bringing together like-minded creatives. We provide women and families on the Mid North Coast memorable portrait experiences and high quality personalised art works, to celebrate themselves and their love.

Portrait of Photographer, Alicia Fox

Alicia has been working as a professional photographer since 2007.  During this time she has developed a signature style, capturing spirit, character and connection in those she photographs.  Alicia’s photographic experience is vast and varied, spanning various continents and including the photographic genres of documentary, fashion, music and wedding, always focussing on the human element.  This finally led her to open a business focussing on portraiture.

Initially developing her style and craft in the darkroom in the UK and on the streets of Europe, she continued her formal photographic studies in Australia at the dawning of digital photography.  Recognising the value of learning from established photographers, Alicia then worked as a photographer’s assistant to a number of commercial, wedding and portrait photographers in Melbourne.

She was employed at a number of highly successful studios, learning the art of portrait and boudoir photography, as well as the importance of providing high quality client service.  While living in Japan, she began delving into the world of education, leading photography workshops with groups and individuals.  In Japan, Alicia’s photographic work primarily focussed on model portfolios, fashion photography and documentary photography.

This documentary influence continued throughout her years living in Latin America, and travelling around the world where she shot for humanitarian organisations, magazines and personal projects.  In Sydney, she worked as a fashion and product photographer for well-known brands before deciding to settle down for a slower pace of life to establish a more personalised customer-focussed photography business.  Wildflower Portraits was born…

All of Alicia’s experience in different genres offers a unique style and skill set to the photo shoots offered at Wildflower Portraits.  Her portrait, branding and boudoir sessions are infused with a fashion flair.  Her weddings take from her experience in documentary, portrait and even product photography.  Model and acting portfolio shoots are heavily influenced by her experience in fashion and commercial photography.

Alicia is also an accredited photographic educator.  Watch this space for education opportunities, coming soon.

Alicia now lives with her husband, James and their gorgeous daughter, Lilyana in beautiful bushland between Crescent Head and Port Macquarie.  Living consciously and sustainably is hugely important to their personal and professional lifestyle.  Their home and office+studio are situated on an off grid arts-and-permaculture community.  They do everything as sustainably as possible, from self-constructed buildings made of reclaimed materials and earth (strawbale and adobe) to their organic vegetable gardens and food forest.  The office and studio are run by solar power and all products and practices are ongoingly monitored to reduce their carbon footprint.

James Galletly

James is Alicia’s partner in life, love, travel and business.  He has a passion for capturing photographs of the in-between moments of spontaneity and is drawn to details.  In his downtime he photographs the wonderful world of mushrooms, capturing the tiniest of details that the human eye doesn’t normally see.  He is at home in the ocean or bush.  James has a background in environmental science, writing and building.  As well as being a sounding board for sustainability-based decisions and the building plans for the new Wildflower Portraits studio (coming 2023-24), James is our second photographer at weddings and events, and assistant at shoots requiring involved lighting or production set-ups.
